Brooke and Evan were married in Rincon, Puerto Rico on October 4th. They held their ceremony at the iconic Rincon light house. Followed by a reception with close friends and family at Pelican Point on Sandy Beach. Brooke selected orange and soft pastel colors which gave the day a romantic tropical feel.

I love being a second photographer because you get to have all the fun of shooting without needing to edit an entire wedding collection. Yaah! productions asked me to be a second photographer for their wedding at Las Marias of course I said yes! I think my favorite part of the wedding was getting to photograph the bride eating ice-cream from her own ice-cream cart. Icecream must be one of the best options available for a tropical beach wedding in Puerto Rico. The officiant for the service was Rev. Gregory Ruiz.
The brides wedding dress was a blush white color and really went well with her decorations. I love off white colors.

This seaside wedding at 8th and Ocean was all about family. The happy couple came down from Jamestown New York with their two sons and a house full of their closest friends and family. Rev. Gregory Ruiz married the two of them during a beautiful sunset wedding in Rincon Puerto Rico.

This past weekend I was thrilled to be a bridesmaid in my older brothers wedding. Not only was it a special weekend for my family, but it was a fun chance for me to experience a wedding from the other side of the lens. Their early fall wedding in northern New Jersey, with the colors in the leaves just beginning to change and the dahlia flower in full bloom was a contrast to the tropical destination weddings I usually photograph here in Puerto Rico.
I didn’t bring my DSLR to the ceremony… I really don’t like having to battle with with other guest photographers while I’m photographing a wedding so I figured I’d extend the courtesy and not get in the way of the photographer my brother hired. I did snap a few cell phone photographs during the reception though 🙂
Their wedding photographer was Chris Jorda…. check out his amazing work here http://www.chrisjorda.com
I absolutely loved her naked cake and all the beautiful fall details.

Tamara and Jason met as correctional officers in the United States (Yes of course I had to ask her about Orange is the New Black!… and she told me that for the most part its pretty true to life), they were partnered together for self defense classes. We did this wonderful day before photoshoot at the Faro (lighthouse) here in Rincon. Their destination wedding was right down the beach from where we did this engagement style portrait session. I find that destination wedding photographers in puerto rico can sometimes get in a rut with coming up with creative portrait ideas since we are usually photographing on the beach. Using some creative photography tricks any place can become the perfect spot for portraits. Pre and Post photo sessions are great because there is extra time to spend focusing on making wonderful images, there also isn’t the pressure of a time line or other people around. During Tamara and Jason’s session I did some more creative photography; double exposures and I also used my infrared camera. Having the extra time and space as well as a couple who is up for making something beautiful is the best space to create amazing new pictures. I always highly highly recommend doing an additional portrait session as an add on to wedding photography. I tell my friends that most photographers will even do it at a discounted rate if they are already doing the photography for the wedding. Its always worth it and another chance to have fun in front of the camera… and if you doing a post wedding session it could be another opportunity to wear your dress!

Wow! It seems like it was only yesterday I was standing on the beautiful white sand beaches of Culebra Island with Jett and Chelsea before their beautiful destination wedding in Puerto Rico. It was my first time on the island of Culebra, a beautiful remote island off the east coast of Puerto Rico. It is only accessible by small 8 seater plans and a ferry. The population of permanent residents is about 1500 so its a very small community. The beach where the wedding was held was Flamenco Beach ranked #3 in the world! Of course it made a beautiful back drop for beach wedding photography.
Jett and Chelsea’s wedding was my first Same Sex wedding. I’ve been doing wedding photography on the island for over 5 years now so I think its about time. Their destination wedding on culebra island was intimate with just close friends and family. They had beautiful tropical decorations. The wedding was catered and organized by the amazing folks at Homeless Dog Cafe, I can’t recommend them enough!

There is nothing more beautiful than a June Bride…. well maybe two June Brides!
I had the honor and pleasure of photographing Elizabeth and Adriana’s beautiful Arecibo destination beach wedding. I had connected with the ladies via Skype and we talked a little bit about couples style and the overall feel of their wedding. Lots of beautiful delicate details and beautiful feminine dresses. They were blessed with clear skies and a wonderful sunset. I’m thrilled to have been a part of their wedding.
Most of the weddings I photograph are more or less the same… even the same sex ones! So most of what I do is look for unique and interesting things that will bring out the individual style of the couple I am photographing. Sometimes its something with the decor, or an interesting new tradition that has been added to the ceremony. These are important things to think about when planning your wedding. How will you show your personality… what kind of things will you include in your ceremony to make it more meaningful? For Elizabeth and Adriana it was a special Rose ceremony honoring their parents as well as a sand ceremony to symbolize their lives becoming intermixed.

Christopher and Rachael were married by the beach in Rincon, Puerto Rico. They took extra special care to make sure that everything was perfect, that the venue was well decorated and everything fit the mood for their tropical destination wedding. Both of their families were in attendance and had a wonderful time celebrating their wedding by the beach.
The venue for this wedding was Sunset Paradise Villas, its right on the water and one of my favorite places to do wedding photography in Rincon, Puerto Rico. The planner who made sure everything went smoothly was Mary Gilmartin of Classic Events.

Their destination beach wedding in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico was a joy to photograph. Racquel’s selection of beautiful tropical flowers and creative and inspiring decorations set the tone for the day. Their family and friends couldn’t have been happier and everyone had a great time that their wedding. Below are a few of the photographs from their wedding collection. The two photographs of them together as a couple and the head and shoulders portrait of Racquel were created just after the ceremony. As a wedding photographer its always important to keep trying new things, and its especially important as a destination wedding photographer in Puerto Rico since most of the time I’m photographing on the beach or similar location. To create these images I had my assistant hold the soft box behind them and shot directly into the light to get the high key effect in these portraits. Its important to experiment with lighting, and creating different kinds of images. All of my couples are so different and their wedding images should reflect some of their unique personality.
This wedding was absolutely gorgeous, the flowers, her dress, and all of the little details made this seaside wedding at La Copa Llena unforgettable.
Vince and Suzanne live up north but vacation often here in Rincon. Their story is filled with Rincon Romance… they met each other for the first time at Pool Bar, a hot spot in the Puntas area, and Rincon has been a special place for them ever since.
La Copa Llena is one of my favorite venues because it has such a great combination of indoor and outdoor spaces. Its perfect for any kind of weather and also a lot of fun for me as a Rincon Wedding photographer because it offers a variety of different kinds of light and backgrounds to play with.
